MS4A1

MS4A1 is a gene encoding a protein named B-lymphocyte antigen CD20 (abbreviated as CD20). The CD20 antigen is a hydrophobic transmembrane protein expressed during B cell differentiation from the pro-B cell phase until the plasma cell stadium. During the differentiation process of human B cells, the abundance of CD20 antigen increases gradually from pre-B cells to mature B-cell stages, but CD20 is not expressed in the initial and final stages of B-cell development. It is a marker for B cells and is co-expressed on B cells with CD19. CD20 is expressed in B-cell lymphoma, hairy cell leukemia, B-cell chronic leukemia and melanoma tumor stem cells. The expression characteristics of CD20 in normal physiological tissues and tumor tissues make CD20 a good target for B cell diseases. CD20 plays an essential role in the regulation of B-cell development and differentiation, B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling, and cell cycle initiation.

Currently, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved 27 antibody drugs targeting CD20 in the world, and there are 93 biologics targeting CD20 in the clinical stage of development. IHC image of CSB-RA015007MA4HU diluted at 1:200 and staining in paraffin-embedded human tonsil tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT.
