Interferon alpha-2 plays a central role in antiviral defense and immunomodulation through JAK/STAT signaling, making validated bioactivity essential for meaningful functional studies. This tag-free recombinant human IFNA2, encompassing the full mature sequence (aa 24–188) expressed in *E. coli*, demonstrates an ED50 of 5 ng/mL in an antiviral assay using A549 cells challenged with vesicular stomatitis virus, confirming robust signaling potency suitable for cell-based activation assays, JAK/STAT pathway dissection, and use as a reference standard in cytokine detection platforms. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts in sensitive immune cell experiments such as PBMC stimulation, primary lymphocyte differentiation studies, and *in vivo* models of infection or tumor biology. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE, combined with this stringent endotoxin control, supports use in antibody development workflows including ELISA coating and functional neutralization screening.
