IL3RA

IL3RA, also known as CD123, is a part of the IL-3 receptor alpha chain. It's mainly found in hematopoietic stem cells and highly expressed in activated T and NK cells. IL3RA works by binding to IL-3, which then links with the IL-3 receptor beta chain (CD131). This forms a receptor complex that activates JAK2, a type of Janus kinase. This activation triggers STAT5, a signal transduction factor, starting an intracellular signaling process. IL3RA helps control the growth and development of various blood cells, including granulocytes and monocytes. It's also found in many blood cancers and could be a new target for cancer treatments.
