Description
TNF-α drives apoptosis, inflammation, and immune cell activation through TNFR1 and TNFR2 signaling, making precise control of its bioactivity essential for mechanistic studies of cytokine-mediated cell death and NF-κB pathway regulation. This yeast-expressed recombinant mouse TNF-α, spanning residues 80–235 of the mature protein, demonstrates potent cytotoxic activity with an ED50 of 17.58–26.84 pg/mL in L-929 fibroblast assays conducted in the presence of actinomycin D, directly validating its capacity to trigger apoptosis in cell-based functional studies. The endotoxin level below 1.0 EU/μg eliminates LPS-driven artifacts that confound interpretation in macrophage activation assays, MAPK phosphorylation experiments, and primary immune cell cultures where TNF-α and endotoxin responses overlap. Purity exceeding 95% by both SDS-PAGE and SEC-HPLC supports its use as a reference standard in cytokine detection platforms and as a defined stimulus in signaling pathway dissection, tumor microenvironment modeling, and antibody validation workflows.
