Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Storage
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

The Recombinant Human CEACAM8 protein is an exceptional resource for research in immunology, focusing on the Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 8 (CEACAM8). Known also as CD67 antigen, Carcinoembryonic antigen CGM6, Non-specific cross-reacting antigen NCA-95, and CD66b, this protein plays a crucial role in cellular adhesion, immune cell activation, and signaling pathways. Produced in E. coli, the product covers the full length of the mature CEACAM8 protein (35-320aa) and features an N-terminal 6xHis-SUMO tag for efficient purification and detection purposes.

With a purity greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE, our Recombinant Human CEACAM8 protein is supplied as a lyophilized powder to ensure consistency and dependability in your immunology research. This product facilitates accurate and reliable results in a variety of research areas, such as inflammation, immune response, and cancer biology.

 Q&A
Q:

You wouldn't happen to have lots that were lyophilized from PBS or any other non-amine buffer would you? The Tris in the buffer makes it difficult to do amine-based labeling like biotinylation without further clean-up.

A:

We will try to dialysis and exchange the stock protein into PBS buffer first, lead time is 3-7 business days if we succeed. Otherwise, we will prepare a new lot with PBS buffer, lead time is 13-23 business days.

Target Background

Function
Cell surface glycoprotein that plays a role in cell adhesion in a calcium-independent manner. Mediates heterophilic cell adhesion with other carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecules, such as CEACAM6. Heterophilic interaction with CEACAM8 occurs in activated neutrophils.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Increased CD66b positive tumor-infiltrating neutrophils (CD66b + TINs) was significantly associated with presence of metastasis, S stage, and nonseminomatous germ cell tumor diagnosis. PMID:27863478
  2. Data suggest ways in which carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecules CEACAM6 and CEACAM8 regulate the biological functions of one another. PMID:26483485
  3. Granulocytes from type 2 diabetes patients display higher granulocyte cell surface expression of CD66b compared with values of healthy controls. PMID:23686079
  4. The highly elevated gene expression of CEACAM6 and CEACAM8 in primary myelofibrosis can serve as molecular markers of myelofibrotic transformation. PMID:21470677
  5. All the leukemic samples showed overexpression of CEACAM6 and 8 when compared with normal granulocytes. PMID:17909799
  6. CD66b molecules are involved in regulating adhesion and activation of eosinophils, possibly through their localization in lipid rafts and interaction with other cell surface molecules, such as CD11b. PMID:18056392
