Description
NRG1 signaling through ErbB receptors plays a central role in neuronal development, myelination, and synaptic plasticity, making a reliably active recombinant form essential for neuroscience research. This partial construct of human pro-neuregulin-1 membrane-bound isoform 6 (residues 20–247), expressed in mammalian cells to preserve native glycosylation, demonstrates strong receptor-binding potency with an EC50 of 18.24–23.66 ng/mL against human ERBB3 in functional ELISA and an ED50 of 2.626–7.598 ng/mL in MCF-7 proliferation assays. These validated activities support use in cell proliferation and survival assays, neuronal differentiation studies, and receptor-ligand binding or competition experiments including SPR-based kinetic analyses. The C-terminal 6×His tag facilitates straightforward purification and oriented immobilization, while purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfy the criteria typically required for sensitive cell-based assays and in vivo tumor biology models.
