Description
FGF1 is a broadly mitogenic heparin-binding growth factor that signals through all known FGF receptor subtypes, making it a uniquely versatile tool for receptor-ligand binding studies, angiogenesis models, and stem cell differentiation experiments. This tag-free recombinant human FGF1 covers the full-length mature sequence (aa 2–155) expressed in *E. coli*, which is well-suited for this non-glycosylated protein, and demonstrates an ED50 below 0.5 ng/ml in Balb/c 3T3 proliferation assays—corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 2.0 × 10⁶ IU/mg in the presence of heparin. Such potency supports use in cell proliferation and survival assays, neuronal or osteogenic differentiation protocols, wound healing models, and SPR-based competition assays requiring a highly active ligand. Purity exceeding 97% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for sensitive *in vivo* tumor biology studies and primary cell culture systems.
