TNFRSF13C

TNFRSF13C, also known as BAFF receptor or BLyS receptor 3, is a type III transmembrane protein that functions as a receptor for BAFF, a B cell-activating factor. It plays a crucial role in B cell survival and proliferation, particularly in the peripheral B cell population. TNFRSF13C interacts with BAFF to activate signaling pathways, including PI3K/AKT, which regulate B cell differentiation and survival. Dysregulation of TNFRSF13C has been implicated in various diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and common variable immunodeficiency (CVID).
