Description

NT5E, also known as CD73 or ecto-5'-nucleotidase, is a GPI-anchored cell surface enzyme that catalyzes the dephosphorylation of extracellular AMP to adenosine. This enzymatic activity positions NT5E as a critical regulator of purinergic signaling, with significant implications for cardiovascular research, immune modulation, and tumor microenvironment studies. The adenosine generated by NT5E influences vascular tone, inflammatory responses, and has emerged as an important factor in cancer immunology, where its expression often correlates with immunosuppressive tumor phenotypes.

This recombinant monoclonal antibody, clone 6F6, offers the reproducibility and consistency that demanding research protocols require. Because recombinant antibodies are produced from defined genetic sequences rather than hybridoma supernatants, you can expect reliable performance across experiments and between lot numbers, eliminating a common source of variability in longitudinal studies or multi-site collaborations. The rabbit IgG format provides excellent signal-to-noise characteristics, and affinity chromatography purification ensures high specificity for your target.

Validation testing has demonstrated robust performance in immunohistochemistry applications using human tissue samples. The antibody has been successfully tested in paraffin-embedded human endometrial cancer and colon cancer tissues at 1:100 dilution using citrate buffer antigen retrieval, producing clear DAB visualization on automated Leica Bond systems. These validated protocols in clinically relevant cancer tissues provide a solid foundation for researchers investigating NT5E expression patterns in oncology contexts. The antibody is also suitable for ELISA applications, with recommended IHC dilutions ranging from 1:50 to 1:200 to accommodate optimization across different tissue types and detection systems.

For cardiovascular and cancer researchers studying purinergic signaling pathways, this antibody provides a dependable tool for characterizing NT5E expression in human specimens.
