Images
  • IHC image of CSB-RA552900A0HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4℃ overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-rabbit IgG polymer labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.
Description

Glutamyl aminopeptidase, also known as aminopeptidase A or CD249, plays a critical role in the renin-angiotensin system by cleaving angiotensin II to generate angiotensin III, positioning it as a key regulator of blood pressure and fluid homeostasis. Beyond its enzymatic function, ENPEP serves as a differentiation antigen (gp160) expressed on vascular endothelial cells and renal proximal tubule epithelium, making it a valuable marker for studies in immunology and stem cell biology where lineage-specific identification is essential.

This recombinant monoclonal antibody, clone 2G11, offers the reproducibility and consistency that demanding research protocols require. Because recombinant antibodies are produced from defined genetic sequences rather than traditional hybridoma methods, researchers benefit from lot-to-lot uniformity that supports longitudinal studies and ensures experimental comparability across collaborating laboratories. The rabbit host origin provides high affinity binding characteristics, while affinity chromatography purification delivers a preparation optimized for sensitive detection applications.

Validation in immunohistochemistry demonstrates reliable performance in paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue, where ENPEP is abundantly expressed. Using a citrate buffer antigen retrieval protocol at pH 6.0 and working dilutions between 1:50 and 1:200, the antibody produces clear visualization of target protein distribution when detected with HRP-conjugated secondary systems and DAB chromogen. This validated IHC protocol, along with confirmed ELISA compatibility, provides researchers with flexibility across experimental platforms.

For investigators exploring renal physiology, cardiovascular regulation, or stem cell differentiation pathways, this antibody delivers the technical reliability needed to confidently characterize ENPEP expression in human tissue specimens.

Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Regulates central hypertension through its calcium-modulated preference to cleave N-terminal acidic residues from peptides such as angiotensin II.
