Description

CD7 is a transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a fundamental role in T-cell and natural killer cell biology, functioning as a costimulatory molecule involved in T-cell activation and intercellular signaling. As one of the earliest markers expressed during T-cell development, CD7 serves as a valuable tool for immunological research, particularly in studies of T-cell ontogeny, leukemia classification, and immune cell subset identification. Its consistent expression on T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells has also made it an important marker in hematological malignancy research.

This recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated from clone 9B3, offers the reproducibility and consistency that demanding research applications require. Because the antibody sequence is defined and produced recombinantly in rabbit host cells, researchers can expect reliable performance across experiments and between lots, eliminating the variability often encountered with traditional hybridoma-derived antibodies. The affinity-chromatography purification ensures high purity for sensitive downstream applications.

Validation by western blot demonstrates specific detection of CD7 in Jurkat whole cell lysate, a well-established human T-cell leukemia line. The observed band at approximately 37 kDa runs higher than the predicted 25 kDa molecular weight, which is consistent with the extensive glycosylation characteristic of this membrane glycoprotein. Working dilutions between 1:500 and 1:2000 provide flexibility for optimization across different experimental conditions, with additional utility confirmed for ELISA applications.

This antibody is well-suited for researchers investigating T-cell biology, lymphocyte development, and hematological malignancies where reliable CD7 detection in human samples is essential for their experimental workflows.
