Description
IL-1β drives pyrogenic and pro-inflammatory responses through IL-1R1 engagement, making precise receptor-binding kinetics essential for modeling innate immune activation and therapeutic target validation. This mammalian-expressed protein, spanning the full mature sequence (aa 117–269), demonstrates specific IL-1R2 binding with an EC50 of 89.65–100.5 ng/mL in functional ELISA, providing quantitative evidence that supports its use in cell-based assays measuring NF-κB or MAPK pathway activation in primary monocytes, macrophages, or endothelial cells. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg meet the contamination thresholds commonly required for experiments where LPS artifacts would confound interpretation of IL-1β-specific effects, including PBMC proliferation studies and in vivo inflammation models.
