Data report the isolation of a novel gene, designated UMODL1, similar to uromodulin (UMOD)/Tamm-Horsfall glycoprotein, on human chromosome 21q22.3. PMID:15194491
result suggests that rs283971 is located in the frequent recombinant region on the UMODL1, and that this region might play a critical role in disease susceptibility to high myopia. PMID:18535602
