The peptide corresponding to amino acids 33-261 of the human HLA class I histocom[atibility antigen, alpha chain E (HLA-E) protein is used to immunize rabbits to produce the HLA-E antibody. This HLA-E antibody is a polyclonal antibody and exists as an unconjugated IgG. It only reacts with human HLA-E protein. The HLA-E also denoted as MHC class I antigen E, plays a specialized role in cell recognition by natural killer cells (NK cells). It also participates in adaptive immunity. Antigen affinity purification makes this antibody relatively pure. Validations of this antibody in ELISA assay have been tested.
