Description

The GNAS antibody is generated by immunizing rabbits with the full-length amino acids of the human GNAS protein. It is a polyclonal antibody and occurs as an unconjugated IgG. Its purity is greater than 95% using protein G purified. It shows cross-reactivity with human, mouse, and rat GNAS protein. This GNAS antibody is available for use in ELISA, WB, IHC, and IF applications. The target protein GNAS is the stimulatory alpha subunit of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein), which is a widely expressed signaling protein essential for the actions of many hormones and other endogenous molecules.

Function

Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) function as transducers in numerous signaling pathways controlled by G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Signaling involves the activation of adenylyl cyclases, resulting in increased levels of the signaling molecule cAMP. GNAS functions downstream of several GPCRs, including beta-adrenergic receptors. Stimulates the Ras signaling pathway via RAPGEF2.
