Description
SPARC plays a critical counter-adhesive role in extracellular matrix remodeling, making it a key mediator in cancer invasion, fibrosis, and wound healing contexts. This tag-free recombinant human SPARC (aa 18–303) demonstrates confirmed antiproliferative activity with an ED50 below 3.0 µg/mL against Mv1Lu mink lung epithelial cells, corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 333 IU/mg—evidence that supports use in cancer invasion models, cell adhesion assays, and integrin-binding interaction studies. The protein's functional validation also provides a suitable basis for 3D culture and scaffold applications where matrix assembly and counter-adhesive signaling must be preserved, as well as serving as a coating antigen for antibody validation. Purity exceeding 98% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/µg satisfies the criteria typical for cell-based proliferation assays and primary cell culture systems where contaminant sensitivity is a concern.
