5-10 business days
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description
IL-16 functions as a natural ligand for CD4, driving chemoattraction of CD4+ T cells, monocytes, and eosinophils—making validated chemotactic activity essential for any in vitro study of this cytokine. This tag-free recombinant human IL-16 partial protein (1203–1332 aa) induces robust chemotaxis of human CD4+ T lymphocytes at concentrations between 1.0 and 100 ng/ml, providing a reliable positive control and functional reagent for migration assays, downstream CD4-mediated signaling studies involving p56lck and MAPK pathways, and antibody validation workflows such as ELISA standard curves or Western blot controls. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that can confound immune cell readouts, which supports use in sensitive primary cell chemotaxis assays and in vivo inflammation models where spurious innate immune activation must be excluded. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE, combined with this stringent endotoxin control, satisfies the quality criteria typical for quantitative functional bioassays and reference standard applications.
