Description

IL-17B signals through the IL-17RB receptor to modulate innate immune responses, yet studying its biology requires a protein preparation with verified potency and minimal endotoxin contamination to avoid LPS-driven artifacts in immune cell assays. This tag-free recombinant human IL-17B, encompassing the full mature sequence (residues 21–180), induces IL-8 secretion in HepG2 cells with an ED50 below 1.0 μg/ml (specific activity >1,000 IU/mg), confirming signaling competence suitable for NF-κB and MAPK pathway dissection, cell-based activation assays, and use as a reference standard in cytokine detection platforms. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfy the stringent criteria typical for primary immune cell cultures and in vivo inflammation models, while purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE supports reliable dose–response characterization and antibody development workflows including immunization, ELISA coating, and western blot positive controls.
