Description
Oncostatin M is a pleiotropic IL-6 family cytokine that signals through JAK/STAT, MAPK, and NF-κB pathways, making it central to studies of inflammation, hematopoiesis, and tumor microenvironment remodeling. This tag-free recombinant human OSM (residues 26–252) delivers high signaling potency, with an ED50 below 2 ng/ml in a TF-1 cell proliferation assay corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 5.0 × 10⁵ IU/mg, providing a reliable basis for cell-based functional assays including immune cell activation, differentiation, and apoptosis studies. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that can confound cytokine-dependent readouts in primary immune cell cultures and support use in in vivo inflammation or tumor biology models. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE, combined with this stringent endotoxin profile, also makes the protein appropriate for use as a reference standard in cytokine detection assays and as a positive control in ELISA-based antibody validation.
