Mouse Prolactin/Luteotropic Hormone(PRL/LTH) ELISA Kit

PRL is a sex hormone that is mainly synthesized and secreted by the lactotrophs of the pituitary and is responsible for the induction of lactation, the development of mammary alveoli, and milk production. It also exerts immunoregulatory properties. PRL signals by binding to PRL and activates a signaling cascade, including Jak/Stat, MAPK, Src, and PI3K/Akt pathways. PRL levels normally increase during pregnancy and breastfeeding and may rise due to physical stress, exercise, and certain medications and diseases. Higher-than-normal levels of PRL can cause certain symptoms, such as irregular periods, infertility, and erectile dysfunction.
