Description
CXCL5 (LIX) is a potent ELR⁺ CXC chemokine that drives neutrophil recruitment through CXCR2 signaling, making it a critical tool for dissecting innate immune responses in murine models. This tag-free recombinant mouse CXCL5, encompassing the full-length mature sequence (residues 41–132), induces robust chemotaxis of human peripheral blood neutrophils at 10–100 ng/ml, confirming its suitability for neutrophil migration assays, CXCR2-dependent MAPK and NF-κB signaling studies, and in vivo inflammation models. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that can confound neutrophil activation readouts, while purity exceeding 97% by SDS-PAGE supports use as a reliable reference standard in cytokine detection assays or as a coating antigen for anti-CXCL5 antibody validation by ELISA. Generated in *E. coli*, this protein provides a suitable basis for functional studies where sequence-authentic, contaminant-controlled chemokine is essential.
