Description

Lymphotactin (XCL1) is the sole C-class chemokine in humans, signaling exclusively through XCR1 to recruit T cells and dendritic cell subsets—making it a critical tool for dissecting XCR1-mediated immune crosstalk. This tag-free recombinant protein spans residues 23–114, corresponding to the mature secreted sequence, and drives chemotaxis of primary human T-lymphocytes at 10–100 ng/ml, providing a suitable basis for Transwell migration assays, XCR1 receptor internalization studies, and downstream MAPK or calcium flux signaling experiments. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that commonly confound immune cell functional readouts, supporting use in sensitive in vivo inflammation models and primary cell activation assays where cytokine-specific effects must be cleanly resolved. Purity exceeding 98% by SDS-PAGE further qualifies this protein as a reliable reference standard in XCL1 detection ELISAs and as a positive control for antibody validation in Western blot.

Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Chemotactic activity for lymphocytes but not for monocytes or neutrophils. In thymus, mediates medullary accumulation of thymic dendritic cells and contributes to regulatoy T cell development, playing a role in self-tolerance establishment.
