KIR2DS2

KIR2DS2, also known as Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor 2DS2, is a membrane protein belonging to the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) family. It is also commonly referred to as CD158j. This protein plays a crucial role in the immune system by recognizing specific HLA-C ligands on target cells, thereby modulating natural killer (NK) cell activation. It is involved in the NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity pathway.
KIR2DS2 has been associated with various diseases, including certain autoimmune disorders and infectious diseases. In the field of drug development, research is underway to explore the potential of targeting KIR2DS2 for immunotherapy, aiming to enhance immune responses against tumors and infectious agents.
