KIR2DL2

KIR2DL2, also known as killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor 2DL2, is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and subsets of T cells. It belongs to the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) family, which plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response. KIR2DL2 interacts with HLA class I molecules, particularly HLA-C1, to inhibit NK cell activation and modulate T cell effector function. This interaction is essential for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive immune responses.
