IFNA1

IFNA1 interferon-α1 is an important member of the type I interferon family, consisting of approximately 166 amino acid residues with a molecular weight of approximately 18-21 kDa and an α-helix structure. The gene for IFNA1 is located on human chromosome 9, where it is clustered with other IFN-α subtype genes. As a key cytokine for antiviral and immune response regulation, IFNA1 functions by binding to the interferon-α/β receptors IFNAR1 and IFNAR2 on the cell surface. The signaling pathways it activates mainly include the JAK-STAT pathway, PI3K-AKT pathway, and MAPK pathway, which lead to the establishment of antiviral states, enhance cellular resistance to pathogens, and regulate the activity of immune cells. Clinically, IFNA1 is widely used to treat various viral diseases and tumors, such as chronic hepatitis C, certain types of leukemia and lymphoma. However, its therapeutic effect may be affected by factors such as individual differences, viral resistance, and side effects.
