Description
Type I interferons drive antiviral and antiproliferative responses through JAK/STAT signaling, yet recombinant preparations often suffer from endotoxin contamination that confounds immune cell readouts. This full-length mature protein (aa 24–189) demonstrates specific receptor engagement with an EC50 of 12.11–13.37 ng/mL in a functional ELISA against an anti-IFNA1 antibody, providing quantitative evidence of proper folding and epitope accessibility suitable for antibody development, ELISA standardization, and Western blot controls. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg meet the contamination thresholds commonly required for cell-based assays with primary PBMCs, T cells, or B cells, where even trace LPS can trigger spurious activation and obscure interferon-specific effects on proliferation, differentiation, or apoptosis. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE supports use in JAK/STAT and NF-κB pathway studies where contaminating proteins would introduce competing signals.
