HLA-DRB1

The HLA - DRB1 gene encodes the HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DR beta 1 chain protein. It is also commonly known as MHC class II antigen, DRB1. This protein is a crucial component of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules. It presents antigenic peptides to CD4+ T cells, thereby initiating an immune response. The related signal pathway mainly involves antigen processing and presentation pathway.
HLA - DRB1 is associated with various autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. In drug development, targeting this protein to regulate immune responses is a research hotspot. Some monoclonal antibodies are under investigation for their potential to treat related diseases, but more studies are needed for clinical application.
