FCER1A, High affinity immunoglobulin epsilon receptor subunit alpha, alias FCE1A, FCER1A, FcERI, etc. FCER1A is encoded by the human FCER1A gene, which is located on chromosome 1 in the 1q23.2 region.
FCER1A is the alpha subunit of the high-affinity IgE receptor, which binds to the Fc region of the IgE molecule. FCER1A's mechanism of action involves the interaction with the Aggregation of allergen-bound IgE molecules leads to cellular activation and release of mediators such as histamine, triggering an allergic reaction. FCER1A plays a key role in allergic reactions, and its activation leads to inflammation and immediate hypersensitivity reactions that characterize allergic diseases such as hay fever and asthma.
