CD226, CD226 antigen, alias PTA1, DNAM-1, TLiSA1.CD226 is encoded by the human CD226 gene, which is located in the q22.2 region of chromosome 18.The protein encoded by CD226 is a glycoprotein that is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, which contains 2 Ig-like domains in the V set.
The mechanism of action of CD226 involves mediating cell adhesion of platelets and megakaryocytes to vascular endothelial cells, as well as playing a role in megakaryocyte maturation. CD226 is expressed on the surface of NK cells, T cells, monocytes, and platelets, and is involved in intercellular adhesion, lymphocyte signaling, cytotoxicity, and cytotoxicity T-cell and natural killer cell-mediated lymphokine secretion.
CD226 is closely associated with the development of autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases and tumors, and is an important molecule in immunological research.
