Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)

Receptor for extracellular ATP > UTP and ADP. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. May be the cardiac P2Y receptor involved in the regulation of cardiac muscle contraction through modulation of L-type calcium currents. Is a receptor for leukotriene B4, a potent chemoattractant involved in inflammation and immune response.

In luteal-phase endometrium, expression of 5-LO (5-lipoxygenase) and LTB4R (leukotriene B4 receptor) is highest on Days 2-4; expression of LTCS (leukotriene-C4 synthase) and CysLTR2 (cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 2) is highest on Days 16-18. In luteal-phase endometrium, LTB4 level is highest on Days 2-4; LTC4 level is highest on Days 16-18. Studies were conducted in Poland on Holstein Polish Black and White dairy cows. PMID:25483008
