Description

MAP2K3, also known as MEK3 or MKK3, serves as a critical upstream kinase in the p38 MAPK signaling cascade, playing essential roles in cellular stress responses, inflammation, and apoptosis. As a dual-specificity kinase that phosphorylates both threonine and tyrosine residues on p38 MAPK, MAP2K3 has become an important target for researchers investigating stress-activated signaling pathways, inflammatory diseases, and cancer biology.

This recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated against a synthetic peptide derived from human MAP2K3, offers the consistency and reliability that demanding experimental workflows require. Because the antibody sequence is defined and production occurs in a controlled recombinant system, researchers can expect reproducible results across different lots, eliminating a common source of experimental variability that can complicate long-term studies or multi-site collaborations.

Validation studies demonstrate robust performance across multiple applications. In western blot analysis, the antibody successfully detects MAP2K3 in a diverse panel of human cell lines including K562, SH-SY5Y, HepG2, HEK293, HeLa, and U-251MG, as well as mouse NIH/3T3 cells, confirming cross-species reactivity with both human and mouse samples. The observed bands at 36 and 39 kDa align with the predicted molecular weight, with the slight size variation likely reflecting post-translational modifications or alternative isoforms. Flow cytometry validation using PC-3 cells demonstrates clear positive signal separation from isotype controls, providing researchers with flexibility for intracellular protein quantification studies.

Whether investigating MAPK signaling dynamics, screening for pathway modulators, or characterizing stress response mechanisms, this antibody provides a dependable tool for advancing your research.

Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Dual specificity kinase. Is activated by cytokines and environmental stress in vivo. Catalyzes the concomitant phosphorylation of a threonine and a tyrosine residue in the MAP kinase p38. Part of a signaling cascade that begins with the activation of the adrenergic receptor ADRA1B and leads to the activation of MAPK14.
