Description

FOSB is a member of the Fos family of transcription factors that dimerizes with Jun proteins to form the AP-1 transcription factor complex, playing a central role in regulating gene expression in response to diverse stimuli including growth factors, cytokines, and stress signals. As an immediate-early gene product, FOSB is rapidly induced following cellular stimulation and has been implicated in critical processes ranging from cell proliferation and differentiation to neuronal plasticity and addiction-related behaviors, making it a valuable target for researchers investigating signal transduction pathways and transcriptional regulation.

This recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated in rabbit using clone 2D12, offers the reproducibility and consistency that demanding experimental workflows require. Because the antibody sequence is defined and production occurs in controlled recombinant systems, you can expect reliable performance across experiments and between lots, eliminating the variability that can complicate long-term studies or multi-site collaborations.

The antibody has been validated for Western blot and ELISA applications, with Western blot testing demonstrating clear detection in HeLa and MCF-7 whole cell lysates at dilutions ranging from 1:500 to 1:2000. In these experiments, the observed band appears at approximately 48 kDa rather than the predicted 36 kDa molecular weight, a shift commonly attributed to post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation or glycosylation that FOSB is known to undergo during cellular activation.

Whether your research focuses on AP-1-mediated transcriptional programs, cellular stress responses, or the molecular mechanisms underlying neuroplasticity, this antibody provides a dependable tool for investigating FOSB expression and regulation in human cell models.
