Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
This glycoprotein, produced by the Sertoli cells of the testis, causes regression of the Muellerian duct. It is also able to inhibit the growth of tumors derived from tissues of Muellerian duct origin.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The study uncovers a new role for AMH in regulating gonadotrope function and suggests that AMH participates in the postnatal elevation of FSH secretion in females. PMID:27030385
  2. AMH increases GnRH-dependent LH pulsatility and secretion, supporting a central action of AMH on GnRH neurons. PMID:26753790
  3. Resveratrol reduced antimullerian hormone levels in rat model of polycystic ovary syndrome. PMID:25667201
  4. AMH is the first hormone/protein shown to have an inhibitory action on primordial follicle assembly. PMID:21637711
  5. In ovaries from adult cycling rats AMH protein is localized in large primary and secondary follicles and not in primordial or small primary follicles, with its highest expression in the largest preantral follicles. PMID:20816688
  6. Mullerian inhibiting substance regulates gonadotropin gene expression PMID:12878721
  7. MIS inhibits regeneration of Leydig cells in ethylene dimethanesulfonate-treated rats by enhancing apoptotic cell death as well as by decreasing proliferative capacity. PMID:14585814
