In studies of Congenital obstructive nephropathy in rat, it was found that il24 was upregulated and that il24 decreases the expression of IL-6 and MMP-3 in the renal epithelial cells. PMID:28253513
IL-24 has a potential treatment effect on cancers not only by inhibiting tumor proliferation, but also by the promotion of beta-endorphin synthesis, inhibition of IL-6 secretion to relieve cancer pain. PMID:23869901
