Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Storage Condition
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20℃/-80℃. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20℃/-80℃.

Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Anticoagulant plasma protein; it is a cofactor to activated protein C in the degradation of coagulation factors Va and VIIIa. It helps to prevent coagulation and stimulating fibrinolysis.
Gene References into Functions
  1. An inhibitory role for PROS1 on BM-derived LCs. Collectively. PMID:29871951
  2. This study identifies a duple role for PROS1 in stem-cell quiescence and as a pro-neurogenic factor, and highlights a unique segregation of increased stem cell proliferation from enhanced neuronal differentiation. PMID:27753164
  3. Mice overexpressing protein S showed significant improvements in blood glucose level, glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity, and insulin secretion compared with wild-type counterparts. diabetic protein S transgenic mice developed significantly less severe diabetic glomerulosclerosis than controls. PMID:27207541
  4. results support a causal relationship between the PS-K196E mutation and venous thrombosis PMID:26251307
  5. By revealing that neural stem-like cells act within the SVZ neurogenic niche as phagocytes and that the ProS/MerTK path represents an endogenous regulatory mechanism for SVZ cell phagocytic activity PMID:25308179
  6. Data indicate that activated T cells express Pros1. PMID:23850380
  7. Results demonstrate that Protein S is a Mer ligand, and is active in Mer-driven phagocytosis in the retina. PMID:23259948
  8. A self-regulatory mechanism of Toll-like receptor signalling through the suppression of Gas6 and ProS expression is described. PMID:22043818
  9. Protein S controls hypoxic/ischemic blood-brain barrier disruption through the TAM receptor Tyro3 and sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor1. PMID:20348395
  10. Data show that the spectrum of bioactivities of recombinant murine protein S with mouse plasma and smooth muscle cells is similar to that of human protein S. PMID:19815836
  11. results demonstrate that ProS is a pleiotropic anticoagulant with activated Protein C-independent activities and highlight new roles for ProS in vascular development and homeostasis PMID:19729839
  12. Pregnancy causes a decrease in APC resistance in mice, which can be explained by the elevation of protein S levels and increased TFPI activity in plasma. PMID:19036061
