Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Storage
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Target Background

Function
Conjugation of reduced glutathione to a wide number of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles. Involved in the formation of glutathione conjugates of both prostaglandin A2 (PGA2) and prostaglandin J2 (PGJ2). Participates in the formation of novel hepoxilin regioisomers. Regulates negatively CDK5 activity via p25/p35 translocation to prevent neurodegeneration.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Expression of both wild-type and catalytically-inactive Y7F mutant GSTP significantly attenuated LPS- or IKKbeta-induced production of GM-CSF. These studies indicate a complex role for GSTP in modulating NF-kappaB, which may involve S-glutathionylation of IKK proteins, and interaction with NF-kappaB family members. PMID:27058114
  2. GSTP can exert redox regulation in the oxidative ER environment and indicate that, within the ER, GSTP influences the cellular consequences of the UPR through S-glutathionylation of a series of key interrelated proteins. Antioxid. PMID:26838680
  3. our study reveals the novel role of GSTP1 in regulation of iNOS by affecting S-nitrosylation, dimerization, and stability. PMID:26361746
  4. These observed differences contribute to our understanding of how genetic ablation of GSTP causes different levels of myeloproliferation and migration [corrected] PMID:25216273
  5. GSTP1 expression in retina increases with developmental age in mice and accompanies murine retinal maturation. PMID:24664677
  6. GSTP knock-out mice display decreased ubiquitination capacity and overall increased susceptibility to oxidative stress. PMID:23129554
  7. Report increased GSTP1 in airways of asthmatic mice. PMID:23647087
  8. DNIC storage function of GST P1-1 and ability of MRP1 to efflux DNICs are vital in protection against NO cytotoxicity PMID:22084240
  9. Gst-pi expression of the prostate cancers are dependent on metastatic site. PMID:21748757
  10. GSTP plays a major role in carcinogenesis distinct from its role in detoxification and provides evidence that the enzyme is a key determinant of the proinflammatory tumor environment. PMID:21975931
  11. This study analysed the kinetic behaviour of all the various cysteine to alanine mutants of Gstp1. These mutations introduce cooperativity and a novel 'ping pong' mechanism in the case of the C169A mutant. PMID:21134126
  12. Sequential catalysis of Aldr1 by glutathione S-transferase P and glutaredoxin may be a general redox switching mechanism that regulates the reduction of protein sulfenic acids to cysteines regulates the reduction of protein sulfenic acids to cysteines PMID:20538586
  13. role in activating Pi-class glutathione S-transferase gene in conjunction with androgens PMID:12023900
  14. Differential expression of GSTpi contributes to the sensitivity to xenobiotics in the substantia nigra and may influence the pathogenesis of reactive oxygen species-induced neurological disorders including Parkinson's disease. PMID:17267597
  15. GSTP1 attenuates the severity of allergic airways disease. However, the efficacy of GSTP1 correlated with mouse strain-dependent variation in Gstp1 expression. PMID:18787219
  16. Results suggest that GSTpi expression may be part of the mechanism underlying the ability of glial cells to elicit protection against the mechanisms involved in MPTP-induced neuronal death. PMID:18792812
  17. GSTP1 prevented LPS-induced TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, MCP-1 and NO production. PMID:18962899
  18. Catalysis of S-glutathionylation at low pK cysteines in proteins is a novel property for GSTpi PMID:18990698
