Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Adapter protein implicated in the regulation of a large spectrum of both general and specialized signaling pathways. Binds to a large number of partners, usually by recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif. Binding generally results in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner. Negatively regulates the kinase activity of PDPK1.
Gene References into Functions
  1. These results suggest that 14-3-3 eta has a protective role against mitochondria mediated cardiomyocyte apoptosis with the involvement of Ask-1/JNK signaling during high fat diet induced type 2 diabetes mellitus. PMID:25599858
  2. The myocardial NF-kappaB activation, inhibitor of kappa B-alpha degradation and mRNA expression of proinflammatory cytokines were significantly increased in DN 14-3-3 mice compared to WT mice.(14-3-3 protein eta) PMID:22178943
  3. Inhibition of a single protective isoform, 14-3-3theta;, by shRNA did not increase vulnerability to neurotoxic injury, but toxicity was enhanced by broad-based inhibition of 14-3-3 action with the peptide inhibitor difopein. PMID:21152247
  4. 14-3-3 eta plays a regulatory role in chondrogenic differentiation. PMID:21291861
  5. Targeting of dominant-negative 14-3-3eta (DN-14-3-3) to murine postnatal cardiac tissue potentiates Ask1, c-jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) activation PMID:14593000
