Description
TGF-β1 orchestrates immune suppression, fibrosis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition across diverse tissue contexts, making its receptor-binding properties central to mechanistic studies of these processes. This rhesus macaque ortholog, spanning the complete mature protein sequence (aa 30–390) with a stabilizing C33S substitution, demonstrates functional integrin αVβ6 binding with an EC50 of 8.9–14.8 ng/mL in ELISA, providing quantitative evidence of receptor engagement suitable for competition assays, receptor-ligand interaction studies by surface plasmon resonance, and antibody epitope mapping experiments. Mammalian cell expression preserves the post-translational modifications required for proper folding and biological activity, supporting its use in cell-based assays including fibroblast proliferation, myofibroblast differentiation, and immune cell suppression models. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg align with standards expected in sensitive primary cell culture systems and functional immunology experiments.
