Description

VEGF165, the predominant pro-angiogenic isoform in human physiology, drives endothelial cell proliferation and vascular permeability through high-affinity receptor engagement, making quantitative assessment of its binding kinetics essential for angiogenesis research and antibody development. This mammalian-expressed protein spanning residues 27–191 demonstrates robust receptor interaction, binding immobilized FLT1 (VEGFR-1) with an EC50 of 28.72–33.22 ng/mL in functional ELISA, a result that supports its use in receptor-ligand competition assays, surface plasmon resonance studies, and cell-based angiogenesis models including endothelial tube formation and wound healing experiments.
