Description
Transthyretin serves as a critical plasma transport protein for thyroxine and retinol-binding protein (RBP4), and its misfolding is implicated in systemic amyloidoses and cancer-related pathways. This recombinant human TTR, spanning the full-length mature protein (aa 21–147) with a C-terminal hFc1-Myc tag, demonstrates confirmed ligand-binding activity with an EC50 of 284.7–391.7 ng/ml against immobilized RBP4 in functional ELISA, providing direct evidence of native-like conformational integrity. That validated binding capacity supports use in ligand-binding and cargo-release assays, drug-protein interaction studies, structural and biophysical characterization, and as a reliable ELISA standard or immunogen for antibody development. Expressed in mammalian cells, this protein satisfies the purity and endotoxin criteria typical for sensitive functional work, with greater than 90% purity by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg, making it appropriate for cell-based membrane transporter functional assays.
