 Q&A
Q:

A few questions :
1. Is this the beta-chain? Seems so when comparing the amino acid sequence.
2. Could you estimate if the tag removal can be successful?
3. If it is not the full length insulin, is it possible to get the full length insulin?
I am intend to do mass-spec for these proteins. Is there any recommendation that which expression system will be best for this application?

A:
Very nice to receive your inquiry.
1) Yes. This is Insulin B chain.
2) We could try to remove the tag. The previous success rate of our tag removal service is 75%-86%.
Now we could simultaneously connect multiple carriers for tag removal and the success rate will be higher than previous. If we succeed in removing the tag, we will charge for extra cost.
The lead time for tag removal service will be 3 working days.
3) If the customer just need conventional mass spectrometry identification, we could perform MS for all the four expression systems.

Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The etiology of blindness in dogs with pituitary dependent hypercortisolism, including the role of adiponectin, interleukin 6, insulin, and nitric oxide, is reported. PMID:22381588
  2. Gluconeogenic flux can be rapidly inhibited by high insulin levels in canines. PMID:19755527
