Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Description
Cardiotrophin-1 signals through the gp130/LIFR complex to activate JAK/STAT and MAPK pathways, making it a critical tool for dissecting IL-6 family cytokine biology in cardiac hypertrophy and immune cell regulation. This tag-free recombinant rat CT-1 covers the full-length mature sequence (aa 1–203) and demonstrates an ED50 below 0.5 ng/ml in TF-1 cell proliferation assays, corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 2.0 × 10⁶ IU/mg—potency that supports use as a reference standard in cytokine detection assays and provides reliable dose-response curves in cell-based functional studies. The endotoxin level of less than 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for LPS-sensitive applications such as primary immune cell differentiation assays, STAT3 phosphorylation studies, and in vivo rat models of inflammation or cardiac stress, where even trace endotoxin contamination would confound cytokine-specific readouts.
