Description
Leukemia inhibitory factor governs pluripotency maintenance in mouse embryonic stem cells and drives macrophage differentiation in myeloid lineages, making its signaling potency critical for both stem cell culture and hematopoietic studies. This tag-free protein, spanning the full mature sequence (aa 24–203), demonstrates an ED50 ≤0.2 ng/ml in the M1 cell differentiation assay, confirming that it retains the high receptor-binding affinity required for JAK/STAT pathway activation experiments and for sustaining self-renewal in feeder-free mES cell systems. Endotoxin levels ≤10 EU/mg satisfy the purity and contamination criteria typical for primary cell assays where LPS artifacts would confound cytokine-specific responses, supporting use in macrophage polarization studies and in STAT3 phosphorylation time-course experiments. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE, combined with mammalian-cell glycosylation, provides a suitable basis for antibody development workflows and for serving as a reference standard in LIF quantification assays.
