Description
IL-13 drives Th2-polarized immune responses and is a central mediator in allergic inflammation, asthma pathogenesis, and fibrotic disease models, making functional validation of recombinant preparations essential for mechanistic studies. This tag-free protein, spanning residues 35–146 of the mature human sequence, demonstrates robust signaling potency in TF-1 cell proliferation assays with an ED50 ≤1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥1×10⁶ U/mg—a threshold that supports use in dose-response experiments examining JAK1/STAT6 pathway activation, primary T-cell differentiation toward Th2 phenotypes, and B-cell IgE class switching. Endotoxin levels ≤10 EU/mg minimize LPS-driven artifacts in assays using monocytes, macrophages, or other innate immune cells, where contaminating endotoxin can confound cytokine-specific readouts. Purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE, combined with the validated proliferative activity, provides a suitable basis for antibody development workflows, including immunogen preparation and ELISA standard curve generation.
