Description
Indian hedgehog signaling plays a critical role in chondrocyte differentiation and osteogenesis, making IHH an essential tool for studying skeletal development and stem cell fate decisions. This tag-free recombinant human IHH, covering residues 29–202 of the mature signaling domain, demonstrates confirmed biological activity with an ED50 of 3.0–10 μg/ml in alkaline phosphatase induction assays using C3H10T1/2 cells—a well-established readout for osteogenic differentiation potential. The E. coli expression system produces a non-glycosylated form that provides a defined, consistent baseline for receptor-ligand binding studies via SPR or ELISA, as well as for stem cell and osteogenic differentiation experiments where glycosylation variables must be controlled. Purity exceeding 96% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for cell-based proliferation assays and in vivo tumor biology models investigating hedgehog pathway dysregulation.
