Description
SLC31A1 (hCTR1) is the principal high-affinity copper transporter at the plasma membrane, making it a critical target for studying metal ion homeostasis and copper-dependent signaling pathways. This full-length recombinant human SLC31A1 (aa 1–190), expressed with an N-terminal 6xHis-SUMO tag in an *E. coli* system, retains functional conformation as demonstrated by ELISA-based binding to human LGALS8, with an EC50 of 373.90–524.30 µg/ml when immobilized at 5 µg/ml. This validated binding activity supports use in ligand-binding and cargo-release assays, drug-protein interaction studies, membrane transporter functional characterization, and structural or biophysical analyses such as SPR and ITC. The protein provides a suitable basis for antibody development and use as an ELISA standard, with greater than 90% purity by SDS-PAGE aligning with standards expected in these quantitative applications.
