Description
Galectin-3 plays multifaceted roles in neuroinflammation, microglial activation, and neurodegeneration, making it a critical target for functional studies in neuroscience. This tag-free recombinant human LGALS3 (aa 2–250, full-length mature protein) demonstrates confirmed hemagglutination activity with an ED50 below 10 μg/ml, validating its lectin-mediated carbohydrate-binding function and supporting use in cell-based agglutination assays, glycan-binding studies, and microglial polarization experiments. Produced in *E. coli* to ensure proper folding of the carbohydrate recognition domain without confounding mammalian glycosylation, the protein provides a suitable basis for investigating galectin-3-dependent signaling in neuroinflammatory models. Purity exceeding 98% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for functional cell assays and *in vivo* neuroinflammation studies where endotoxin contamination would otherwise confound innate immune readouts.
