Description
The soluble IL-15 receptor alpha subunit functions as a natural antagonist of IL-15 trans-presentation, making it a critical tool for dissecting IL-15 signaling in immunological contexts. This recombinant mouse IL-15Rα fragment (aa 33–205) demonstrates potent blocking activity with an ED50 of 0.5–2 ng/mL in inhibiting human IL-15-induced proliferation of CTLL-2 cytotoxic T cells, providing a validated positive control for competitive inhibition assays and biologic inhibitor screening. Mammalian cell expression preserves the native glycosylation and disulfide bonding of the extracellular sushi domain, ensuring conformational integrity appropriate for ligand-binding interaction studies by SPR or BLI, as well as blocking antibody screening and epitope mapping. The C-terminal Fc tag facilitates oriented capture on Protein A surfaces, while purity exceeding 90% and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfy criteria typical for cell-based functional assays.
