Description
IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) is a critical endogenous regulator of IL-1 signaling, competitively blocking IL-1α and IL-1β binding to IL-1R1 without triggering downstream NF-κB or MAPK activation. This tag-free recombinant mouse IL-1Ra, spanning the full mature sequence (residues 27–178), demonstrates potent inhibitory activity with an ED50 below 50 ng/mL in an IL-1α-dependent D10S proliferation assay, corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 2.0 × 10⁴ IU/mg — providing a reliable basis for cell-based functional assays, IL-1 signaling pathway dissection, and use as a reference standard in cytokine detection platforms. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that would otherwise confound results in primary immune cell cultures and in vivo mouse models of inflammation, while purity above 97% by SDS-PAGE supports use as a coating antigen or positive control in ELISA and western blot validation workflows.
