Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Description
IL-11 drives gp130-mediated JAK/STAT3 signaling with broad roles in hematopoiesis, mucosal protection, and fibrotic disease, making cytokine potency and purity critical for mechanistic studies. This tag-free recombinant human IL-11, encompassing the full mature sequence (22–199 aa), demonstrates an ED50 below 1 ng/mL in a B9-11 cell proliferation assay—corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 1.0 × 10⁶ IU/mg—which provides a suitable basis for dose-dependent proliferation assays, JAK/STAT3 phosphorylation studies, and use as a reference standard in cytokine detection platforms. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts, satisfying the purity and endotoxin criteria typical for primary immune cell differentiation experiments and in vivo models of inflammation or fibrosis. Produced in *E. coli* at greater than 95% purity by SDS-PAGE, this recombinant IL-11 protein also supports antibody validation workflows including ELISA coating and Western blot positive controls.
